It's an American B- ...
It's an American B-36. You're right that it was an early cold war bomber. Later versions had 4 jet engines in addition to the 6 piston engines.

the B-36 is a Korean era bomber, and is the last prop bomber we flew. JATO though (which seems to be missing on this model)
