- cross-training. Doing different movement and strength exercises to keep your arms in shape in more ways than just playing a guitar neck. Getting hurt ( tendonitis, carpal, etc.) is easier if your wrist only knows one way to live- or the most popular way to move. Additionally, Are you going to be practicing the guitar all the time? Might as well take the powerball for portable exercise or between practices.

Just keep ...
Just keep practicing and you'll do fine. Although it probably would've been better if you used the regular Powerball first. I mean, if you're going to use weights for the first time, you wouldn't start of with the heavy weights either ;)
Hi, I'm going to ...
Hi, I'm going to quote here: "Musicians need to have strength, co-ordination and dexterity in both hands, whether they play a drum, piano, sax or guitar." "NSD Powerball will not only give the player a very significant boost in hand and finger strength, it will also help to considerably improve their co-ordination making these advanced guitar techniques far more accessible at all levels of play." Hope that helped :)

I just bought one of the metal ones and can't seem to keep it spinning. The weight of the metal alone is kind of a workout in itself after spending 30 minutes trying to keep it spinning! I've had a few tries that lasted about 10 seconds or so, so I'm sure I'll eventually get the hang of it.
As a guitarist I'm ...
As a guitarist I'm really hesitant to go buy this. I don't see what this would do for me. I think it comes down to "Why should I get this instead of simply practicing?" Then again, that goes for a lot of products on the market, music related or not...

- wow, I just bought my powerball and I had the same problem as you. five minutes ago, though, I actually got it going. It's probably something about your hand motion. I would recommend you to try different directions, speed, and such with your hand when your trying to get it up to speed and eventually you'll get one that works. Good luck!

Both toys and exercise for hand forearm.I think most people use them as toys though. I use them to warm up before a guitar practice session.

Powerballs are for ...
Powerballs are for increasing strength, co-ordination and dexterity in hands, wrists, arms and upper body. So it is great for: 1) Fitness. 2) Sports/games that require arm and/or wrist strength. 3) Musicians. 4) Rehabilitation after wrist or arm injuries. 5) Treatment and prevention of RSI, Carpal Tunnel, Arthritis and Tendonitis. That should cover it all...., I think :)
the biggest ...
the biggest difference is that the 250hz powerballs are the fastest gyros and the metal powerballs produce the most weight (and look better ;))
